Who has not said
“I love you“,

But later said
“I’ve changed my mind.”

“You liar; you lied!”

“I never did; I meant it at the time.”

A lie
lies
In the reddened eye
Of the beholder.

A lie
Lies ancient  in
A liar’s blackened heart.

A lie may be admitted,
Explained away, or hidden,
But love is not like that.
Love can’t lie.
